Description
Repton House is a house built around 1905 by P H Currey. It is constructed from rubble gritstone and features plain gables and ridge stacks. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The building has an irregular plan, with a central range and gabled projections at both ends. The southwest elevation consists of two storeys and attics, with five bays that generally contain 2 and 3-light windows featuring flat-faced mullions and surrounds, reflecting the local 18th-century vernacular style. There is a 5-light flat-roofed bay on the ground floor at the northwest end, and the southeast end has an asymmetrical shoulder with a crenellated motif in the masonry above the first-floor window heads. A single-storey pitched roof projection is located at the southeast end, along with a verandah and entrance porch on the northwest elevation, which has a decorative motif above the doorway. Inside, some original joinery, including doors, a staircase, and a hearth with seating, has been preserved. The house is included for its group value.
