Description
The piers and gates at Yew Tree Avenue in Clipsham Park Wood date from around 1860. They consist of four moulded stone gate piers designed for carriages and two pedestrian gates. The piers have a square plan with concave moulded coping and banded orbs on top. There is a pair of open work wooden gates along with two single gates. These structures mark the entrance to the distinctive yew tree topiary avenue, which was formerly a drive leading to Clipsham Hall, and they are part of a group that includes the lodge nearby.
