Description
A row of three cottages, likely dating from the late 18th century, though not all built at the same time. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble and have Welsh slate roofs with a very steep pitch. They are all of two storeys, but have varying room layouts. Number 19 is a two-unit house with two outer three-light casement windows and an inner door; the windows have lintels made of chamfered timber. Number 21 is a single-unit cottage with an inner door and three-light casement windows. Carved into a window quoin is the name “John Clark,” in what appears to be an older hand. The left-hand gable of the pair shows a coped detail. Number 23 appears to be somewhat earlier; the single bay to the left of the doorway has a fire window and a three-light casement with wide, flat timber lintels. The doorway is recessed to the right. The cottages are characterised by brick gable stacks.
