Description
No. 17 High Street is a house dated 1686, constructed from coursed rubble with a stone tiled roof and ashlar quoins. The building has two storeys with attics and features a two-unit plan. A central door is located beneath a panelled and moulded early 20th-century bracketed porch. There are three-light casement windows on either side of the door, which have been renewed in their original openings that feature chamfered timber lintels. Above, the outer windows are also three-light casements, while the central space is blind. The door is dated and bears the initials RW. An ashlar band forms the heads of the ground floor windows, and the building has coped gables with gable end stacks. There are two hipped dormers in the roof and a mullioned light to the cellar below.
