Description
The Black Horse is a house, likely with an early 18th century core. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a stone tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a two-unit plan, with a door on the left side of the front elevation, which has a stone lintel and keystone. To the right of the door, there are two 3-light 19th century casement windows with stone heads and keystones. The upper windows have been renewed. There is a brick chimney stack located behind the door and another chimney stack situated between the windows. The gable to the right is stone coped. To the left, now part of the house, there are two bays of different construction, which contain two 3-light casement windows from the 19th century, featuring flat timber lintels. The gable wall displays large stepped stones, and at ground floor level, there is one blocked moulded stone window alongside a gothick traceried light with a chamfered timber lintel.
