Description
The Yews is a house dated 1625, with initials RS, and is situated gable end to the street. It is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins and features ashlar bands, topped with a stone tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a facade divided into two sections. The left section is slightly lower and has a 3-light ovolo moulded mullioned window on each floor, along with quoins that suggest a blocked opening on the ground floor.
The main range, which is higher, has two bays. There is an original doorway on the left that has been blocked and now incorporates a window. Beyond this is a 3-light casement window on each floor, both with chamfered timber lintels. A new projecting porch is located next to this window. To the right, there is another blocked door or window and a 3-light casement window with a chamfered timber lintel. The gables are coped, and there is a brick axial stack, along with a moulded stone stack on the left gable. In the gable wall, there is a 2-light ovolo moulded mullioned window with a hoodmould.
