Description

The buildings at 18 and 20 Priory Road comprise a pair of houses, likely originally a row of cottages, with construction primarily dating to a later date, though incorporating elements from the 17th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble throughout.

The two-unit, two-storey section that runs parallel to the street features casement windows with chamfered timber lintels. Behind this section are three further parts of differing heights. The first part has a two-light casement window, a small window to the ground floor, and two casements on the first floor. A two-unit section follows, featuring a central doorway flanked by casement windows with chamfered timber lintels. Above this doorway is a single, ovolo moulded, two-light stone mullioned window and a casement. The rear section also consists of two units and includes new casement windows set within original openings on both floors. Brick stacks are visible on the gable ends and where the various sections of the building join.
