Description
The Baptist Chapel, dated 1819, is constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, topped by a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. The building features a central round-arched doorway with a fanlight above, leading to a 20th-century door, and a renewed window on either side. Above the door, there is an inscription on a stone tablet that reads 'Baptist Chapel erected 1819'. On the left side, there are two large 19th-century top-opening windows, a first-floor two-light casement window, and a 20th-century single-storey extension. The right side mirrors this with two similar large windows and a lean-to that has an overlight, although the door is blocked. Inside, the chapel includes a west gallery supported by four slender cast iron columns and features earlier 19th-century wall monuments, with two more located on the front outside wall.
