Description
44 and 44A High Street is an early 18th-century house and shop that forms one building. It is two storeys high and constructed of chequered red and blue brick. The roof is double and covered with slates, featuring two gabled dormers. The building has rusticated stone quoins and a stucco band, along with a stone plinth. There are five windows, one of which is blocked, with flush frames, straight brick arches, and stone cills. The ground floor has been altered; a stone extension with a shop front has been added to No 44, and No 44A has a bay window. There are modern doors and a modern extension at the rear. Nos 41, 44, and 44A form a group with Victoria Hall.
