Description
Victoria Hall is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of High Street. It has a 20-yard frontage and is a two-storey hall constructed in ashlar stone with a plain classical front. The facade is divided by Roman Doric pilasters, which are panelled on the ground floor and paired on the first floor. A frieze and cornice project slightly over the pilasters, featuring a small central pediment.
On the first floor, there are three sash windows with plain reveals, although the marginal lights are blocked. The ground floor has one window on each side of the central doorway, which is set beneath a small rectangular fanlight. Above the door, there is a window framed in moulded stone with a round arch supported by console brackets and a keystone. The entrance features a panelled double door and is accessed by three steps, with a plinth at the base. A modern hood has been added above the entrance.
Victoria Hall is part of a group with Nos 41, 44, and 44A, as well as Nos 41, 45 to 49 (odd).
