Description

1 Northgate, also known as 'Old Deanery' or 'Old Manor House', is an early 17th-century house located on the north side of Northgate. The building is two storeys high and constructed from coursed rubble with a reed thatched roof. It features four windows, two of which are two-light hung sashes with wood lintels on the ground floor, and a single light window. Above, there are modern casements. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set in a reeded wood doorcase from the early 19th century, topped with a small hood. This property, along with the adjacent stabling to the west and Nos 14 and 16, forms a cohesive group.
