Description
The Statue of Queen Victoria is a memorial statue located in the Memorial Gardens on Victoria Embankment in Nottingham. It was created in 1905 by the sculptor Albert Toft and was originally placed in the Market Place before being moved to its current location in 1953. The statue features a large standing figure made of white marble, set on a square pink granite pedestal that has a cornice and a stepped plinth. There are bronze plaques on all four sides of the pedestal, three of which display figures in relief. The statue stands on an ashlar base with four steps leading up to it.
