Description
Nos. 13 and 15 St James's Street is a commercial building, now functioning as a public house, dating from around 1870 and altered around 1990. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features an Italianate style. The building stands three storeys high and has a five-window range of composite sashes, which are accented by alternating pediments and moulded surrounds. Above this, there are five smaller plain sashes, also with moulded surrounds. The ground floor, made of ashlar, has five openings defined by pilasters, topped by a fascia cornice. These openings feature glazed screens and doors that were added around 1990.
Inside, the interior was refitted in a late 19th-century style around 1990. Notably, there are two large late 19th-century pendant lamps on the first floor. The building is included for its group value.
