Description
The gate, piers, railings, and dwarf wall to the forecourt of Basford House were constructed around 1739 and 1900. The central feature consists of a pair of panelled square ashlar piers topped with stepped pyramidal caps, flanking double wrought-iron gates with an overthrow. On either side, there are dwarf walls that are rendered and topped with ashlar coping, supporting wrought-iron spearhead railings that extend approximately 40 meters in length. To the left, there is a rendered square pier with a cornice cap and wrought-iron double gates, dating from around 1900.
