Description
The terrace wall, balustrade, and steps located 75 meters southeast of Wollaton Hall were built in the 17th century and altered in the early 19th century, possibly by the architect Wyatville. The structure is made of brick and ashlar and features a straight wall that is approximately 200 meters long. In the center, there are steps that have a straight upper flight and a half-round lower flight. The balustrade walls are supported by cast-iron columns, which are linked by chains. The ashlar balustrade includes pedestals. At the western end, there is a coped ashlar wall that incorporates an integral stone bench, flanked by niches with pediments.
