GV II

Vase and pedestal. Late C18, adapted in early C19. Sandstone. Shallow vase with acanthus leaf carved moulding to soffit, adapted and re-carved from fragment of an C18 classical urn (such as those of Lord Burlington at Londesborough & Buxton Slopes). The stone pedestal and the foot to the vase both designed (mid C19) for the vase. Pedestal; square moulded stone base and cornice with plain shaft in Hollington sandstone.
