Description
Number 12 on Broad Street is a former general dispensary, now used as offices. It was built between 1841 and 1843 by the architectural firm Nicholson & Goddard from London and underwent alterations in the early 20th century. The building is finished in painted stucco and showcases a Classical Revival style. It features a plinth, a rusticated ground floor, a string course, and a prominent cornice. The structure is two storeys high with five windows on the first floor, which are divided by Ionic pilasters on a sill band and contain five 12-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a recessed doorway with a renewed six-panel double door and an overlight, flanked by two similar sash windows. To the right, there is an entrance bay with a concave-sided oriel window that has three lights, and a doorway that has been altered to form a window.
