Description

The bridge over the River Soar, dated 1890, is a Grade II listed structure located on Mill Lane. It features a braced arched iron design with two wide and low segmental iron arches supporting the roadway. The bridge is adorned with an ornate cast-iron railed parapet. Its brick abutments are complemented by square brick piers topped with stone octagonal turrets that have moulded caps and panelled sides. This bridge is part of a series that includes other notable bridges over the River Soar, such as those at The Newarke, Mill Lane, and Upperton Road, as well as West Bridge on West Bridge Street.
