Description

Turret Gateway, built around 1422-23, serves as the gateway to the south entrance of the inner bailey of the Castle. Although it is in ruins, a significant amount of walling remains. The structure is made of stone rubble and features a four-centred archway. It is also designated as a Scheduled Monument. The Turret Gateway is part of a group that includes all the listed buildings in Castle Street, Castle View, and Castle Yard, along with Skeffington House, the Iron Gates, Chantry House, and Newarke Wall, all located in The Newarke.
