Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of twelve houses, numbered 7 to 17, on the southwest side of New Walk. The buildings are constructed of grey brick with stucco dressings and have a slate hipped roof. They feature a moulded stuccoed eaves cornice, chamfered quoins, and brick bands at the first and second floor levels. The terrace is three storeys high, with the central two houses projecting slightly and having chamfered quoins to their angles. The windows are sash windows without glazing bars, with the central two windows being wider and paired. The ground floor window architraves are shouldered and segmental-arched. A central double porch has rusticated square-section piers, a moulded cornice, and a panelled parapet that serves as a balcony to the first-floor windows. The property is included on the list for its group value, along with numbers 7 to 29 (odd) and number 37 (Provincial House).
