Description

No. 78 on London Road is an early 19th-century building with a stuccoed exterior and a low-pitched hipped roof covered in slates. It stands four storeys tall and features three windows, along with a one-window extension. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and there is a two-storey splayed bay on the right side that has three windows with modern glazing and a small plain railing above. The entrance consists of a recessed panelled door set within a Tuscan doorcase, which has a plain frieze and cornice. The building is topped with a wide eaves cornice supported by paired modillions, and the eaves soffit is panelled. This property is included for its group value with Nos 78 to 82, which form a cohesive architectural group.
