Description
The former St Mark's church hall and school was built between 1869 and 1872, designed by architect Ewan Christian in the Gothic style. The building is faced in purple granite rubble with stone dressings and has slate roofs. On the right side facing Memory Lane, there is a single-storey projecting semi-circular end of the hall with a conical roof and shouldered heads to the windows. To the left, there is a projecting gable featuring a large plate-traceried window, a gabled porch at the side, and a slightly outbuilt chimney that is off centre.
