Description
No. 7 St Martins East is an 18th-century building constructed of red brick. It features a moulded brick eaves cornice and band, and stands three storeys tall with five windows. Some of these windows are blocked, while others have modern designs. The windows have segmental brick arches and sills, with most being sash windows that include glazing bars. The building has a notable doorcase, which includes an open segmental hood supported by well-carved brackets, reeded pilasters, and panelled reveals. The frieze features a panel with cherubs, and the door itself is a fielded-panel design, although the top panel has been replaced with glass. Adjoining the building is the side elevation of No. 12 Guildhall Lane, which is slightly later in date but has a similar construction style. Nos. 3, 5, and 7 St Martins East form a group with St Martin's Cathedral on Guildhall Lane.
