Description
The tunnel ventilation shaft located at the rear of number 7 on Dillon Way in Glenfield was built between 1830 and 1832 as part of the former Swannington to Leicester Railway Line. Designed by Robert Stephenson, the shaft is made of burnt blue engineering brick and features ashlar coping. It has a slightly tapering circular shape, standing about 2 meters high, and is topped with a dome iron grill. Please note that number 7 is not included in this listing.
