Description
3 Church Street is a building that likely dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features part of an exposed timber frame with brick and cement infilling. The structure is one storey with an attic and has three plain early 19th century casement windows that slide horizontally, along with one small-paned cast iron window located under the eaves. The doorway is plain and includes a ledged door, with cambered heads above the openings. On the left-hand side, there is a lower outbuilding wing. The roof is thatched but covered with corrugated asbestos, and there is a small casement window set into it. This building, along with Nos 1, 3 and Church Farmhouse, forms a group with Elm Cottage on Elvaston Lane.
