Description
Maltkiln Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with quoins, while the rear is rendered. The building features stone slate roofs and has a two-room front range with a slightly shorter parallel rear range. It stands two storeys high and has a near-symmetrical front with a near-central entrance that is topped by a deep lintel. The front also includes sash windows with glazing bars, with the ground floor windows being heightened, and a 2-light window located to the right on the first floor. There are end stacks, and the rear has various altered and later openings. A projecting wing to the right is not of special interest. Inside, there is a splat baluster stair and panelled doors.
