Description
This description is for a pair of tomb chests located on either side of a footpath, approximately 10 meters south of the south transept of the Church of St. Peter in Woolley. The tomb chests are shrine-like in appearance and their exact date is uncertain, though they may date back to before the Norman period. They feature much-weathered square-cut sandstone bases topped with gabled roofs made of thick stone slates, which consist of two courses and have Gothic roll-moulded coping.
