Description

The Dam Inn is an 18th-century house with alterations from the mid-19th century and later additions. It is a square building with a three-window front of two storeys. The construction is of roughly coursed squared stone with large dressed quoins. The roof is high-pitched and swept, covered with stone flags and long hips. Later 19th-century sash windows have raised surrounds. The front door is a four-panel design, topped by an oblong fanlight within an architrave. A later link connects the main house to a former outbuilding to the rear and north, which is now used as a dining room. This link is built of similar materials and in a similar style, though it contains modern windows. A blocked carriage entrance is visible in the north return.
