Description

The gate piers, gates, and a short length of flanking wall form part of the former entrance to Heath Old Hall. These are constructed of ashlar stone, with dressed stone walls topped with ashlar coping, and include cast-iron gates. The piers feature plinths, channelled stonework with Doric pilasters, an entablature, and a casement-moulded cornice, all surmounted by large pineapple finials. The inner sides of the piers have a projection with a console, and the gates have dog bars and a wrought-iron mid-rail. The flanking walls are ramped towards the gates and have large carved stone brackets, which were renewed around 1975.
