Description
No 13 Market Place is a house that now features a shop on the ground floor, a club at the rear, and a hairdressing salon on the first floor. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some later alterations. The building has rendered walls and Welsh slate roofs. It stands three storeys high and has two bays.
On the ground floor, there is a passageway on the left that provides access to the club, featuring a board door beneath a fanlight, set in a doorcase with Doric half-columns, a frieze, and a cornice. The shop front is from the 20th century and is not of special interest. The first and second floors have 20th-century casement windows, with the second-floor openings being smaller. All windows have projecting ashlar sills and voussoired wedge lintels with fluted keystones. A gutter is supported by five small brackets, and there are brick stacks at the ends of the building. A flagpole is located between the windows in the first bay.
