Description

The farmhouse dates to the 18th century. It is a three-storey building constructed of stone, with a stone slate roof and chimneys at each gable end. The architecture is described as plain but substantial and of good quality. The top storey features two windows with stone architraves and hung sash windows with glazing bars, with bands continuing as sills. The first floor has stone mullions and glazing bars in its windows, while the ground floor has a single hung sash window with glazing bars, a doorway with a stone architrave, and two mullion windows. The farmhouse includes kneelers and plain gable copings. Throstle Nest Farmhouse is part of a group that also includes outbuildings.
