Description
Midgeley House Farmhouse and outbuildings is an 18th-century large farmhouse located on Foul Causeway Lane. The building is constructed of stone and features a stone slate roof, with stacks at the gable ends. It has two storeys and two three-light mullion windows on each floor, along with a door framed by a stone architrave. The gable ends are stone-coped and include kneelers. There are one-storey extensions on each side of the farmhouse, which was unoccupied at the time of the survey.
To the east, there is a very fine range of outbuildings arranged around a courtyard. This includes a large barn that has a blocked segmental waggon arch and an end gable dovecote, which features a small arch-headed window and a keystone inscribed with the initials 'J.A.D' and the date '1785', indicating it was built for John Dinedale. The doors and windows in the outbuildings are also framed by stone architraves. Additionally, there is a one-storey stable attached to the barn, along with a further stable block positioned at right angles. The remains of a semi-circular horse gin can be found to the east of the outbuildings.
