Description
13 and 14 Queen Square are two houses that have been converted into office premises. They were built between 1815 and 1822 by John and George Bischoff and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of rendered brick, designed to look like ashlar, and feature a slate roof. Each house has two storeys and a basement, with two bays.
No. 13 has a panelled door with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, along with a keyblock and eared architrave in plaster. The windows to the right have similar architraves and are fitted with plate-glass sashes. A stack straddles the ridge on the right side.
No. 14 features a wide entrance with double moulded-panel doors and a projecting surround, while its windows are similar to those of No. 13. The interior has not been inspected. These houses are part of a development by the Bischoffs that included 13 houses on the northeast side of the square.
