Description

The Whitakers Arms Public House, located at 1 Kirkgate, dates from the early to mid-19th century. This two-storey building is constructed of stone and features a stone slate roof with stone stacks at the gable ends. It has three windows, one of which is blocked and lacks glazing bars. The entrance includes a carved doorway with splayed reveals and a panelled door. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 33 to 45 (odd) and also forms a group with Nos 59 and 61.
