Description

Warren Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on Arthington Warren Lane. The building is constructed from coursed squared sandstone with quoins and features a Welsh slate roof. It has a double-depth, two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with three bays that are almost symmetrical. The doorway, which has a plain surround, is slightly offset to the right of centre. Above the doorway is an oculus, and there are two three-light windows on each floor, all featuring slightly-recessed flat-faced mullions. The farmhouse has gable chimneys and gable copings.

On the left gable wall, there is an inserted doorway at ground floor level and a blocked doorway above it, with the lintel displaying raised lettering in sunk panels that reads "1623" "WM". The rear of the building has windows that are of an older type than those at the front, featuring recessed chamfered mullions, with two three-light windows on each floor and a two-light stair window in the centre. There is a lean-to addition at the right-hand end, which is of less interest. The interior was unoccupied at the time of the survey but may contain features of interest.
