Description

ARTHINGTON WARREN LANE SE 24 SE LS21 (east side) 6/94 Warren Farmhouse - GV II

Farmhouse. Early C18, slightly altered. Coursed squared sandstone with quoins (and now strap-pointed), Welsh slate roof. Double-depth 2-unit plan. two storeys and 3 bays, almost symmetrical; doorway with plain surround, offset slightly right of centre, an oculus at 1st floor above this, and two 3-light windows on each floor, all with slightly-recessed flat-faced mullions. Gable chimneys and gable copings. Left gable wall has an inserted doorway at ground floor and a blocked doorway above this, the lintel with raised lettering in sunk panels "1623" "WM". Rear has windows of older type than front, with recessed chamfered mullions: 2 of 3 lights on each floor, and a 2-light stairwindow in the centre, (lean-to addition at right-hand end of less interest).

Interior: unoccupied at time of survey, but may contain features of interest.
