Description
Nos 36 and 38 Boroughgate are a pair of 18th-century houses that are now used as offices. They are constructed of ashlar stone and have a stone slate roof, standing three storeys high. The buildings feature six windows with hung sashes that include glazing bars, and the cills are part of plain string courses on the first and second floors. There are two doors, each with four fielded panels and three-light rectangular fanlights. The ground floor has four windows. The houses have a plinth and kneelers. While this block is quite plain and lacks elaborate architectural details, it remains an unaltered example of its period. Nos 36 to 40 (even) are part of a group with Nos 43 to 47 (odd).
