Description
This is an 18th-century house on Boroughgate, built of stone with a stone-slate roof and stone stacks at the gable ends. It has three storeys and five windows across its front. The windows lack glazing bars. A plain string course runs along the first floor, while the window sills of the second floor form a second string course. The central doorway is framed by Tuscan columns, a frieze, and a pediment, topped with a radiating fanlight. The door itself is made of six fielded panels in two leaves. The interior has been modernised. The house forms a group with numbers 2 to 8 (even) and numbers 20 (even) on Market Place.
