Description

A pair of cottages located in Rock Lane, Whitecote, dating to the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are constructed of rendered stone with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, with five first-floor windows in total. Each cottage features a central wooden lattice porch and windows on both the ground and first floors. Number 34, on the right-hand side, likely retains original upper-floor windows with a central mullion and sash frames, alongside a single-light window. Number 36, on the left-hand side, has been altered with lowered sills and modern casement windows. The cottages have gable copings and rendered brick stacks at the centre and ends. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are potentially linked historically to Ross Mills, which is located near the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to the north.
