Description
Number 331 and the attached wall is a house and shop located on Upper Town Street in Bramley, dating from the late 18th century with mid-19th century alterations. The house is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with shallow courses and features a stone slate roof with coped gable ends. It has stone modillion eaves brackets and is two storeys high with three windows, which have plain stone architraves and sills, and four-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a glazed door with an overlight, topped by a large segmental stone pediment supported by large console brackets. There is an added bay in the same style on the left side. The house has moulded end stacks.
On the right side, there is a shop window, with two sashes on the first floor, a band at the eaves level, and a rusticated round-arch attic window. At the rear, there is a tall round-headed stair window with a keyblock. The interior has not been inspected.
The boundary wall along the roadside is approximately 40 meters long and 1.5 meters high, made of hammer-dressed gritstone with rounded coping. It features gate piers at the center and similar piers at each end, which are square with a band and pointed capstone.
