LEEDS

SE2435SW UPPER TOWN STREET, Bramley 714-1/67/558 (South side (off)) 05/08/76 No.287 Warrel's House (Formerly Listed as: UPPER TOWN STREET, Bramley (South West side) No.287)

GV II

House and barn, now one house. Late C18, converted C20. Dressed stone. Stone slate roof with coped gable ends and shaped kneelers. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Quoins. Plain stone architraves, sash window openings, modern plate-glass frames, central fielded-panel door with rectangular fanlight, later shallow stone porch with moulded cornice. Stone chimney stacks with cornices over gable ends. Lower 2-storey rear wing: yard facade has wide keyed arch, narrower doorway, round-arched window, herring-bone tooling, some rebuilding. Rear (towards road): blocked segmental-arched cart entrance right, 2-light flat-faced mullion windows, suggests that the rear wing was originally a laithe house, much altered. INTERIOR: not inspected.
