Description
Warrel's House is a house and barn that has been converted into one residence. It dates from the late 18th century and was converted in the 20th century. The building is constructed of dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with coped gable ends and shaped kneelers. It is two storeys high and has three windows. The exterior includes quoins, plain stone architraves, sash window openings with modern plate-glass frames, and a central fielded-panel door with a rectangular fanlight. There is a later shallow stone porch with a moulded cornice and stone chimney stacks with cornices over the gable ends.
At the rear, there is a lower two-storey wing. The yard facade has a wide keyed arch, a narrower doorway, and a round-arched window with herring-bone tooling, indicating some rebuilding. The rear side facing the road features a blocked segmental-arched cart entrance on the right and two-light flat-faced mullion windows, suggesting that this wing was originally a laithe house and has undergone significant alterations. The interior has not been inspected.
