Description

This is a 17th-century barn, now used as a store, located to the south of Number 7 on Oulton Lane in Rothwell. The barn is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble, which has been patched with brick, and features a stone slate roof. It is a small rectangular building with three bays. In the center, there is a square wagon entrance that has a renewed wooden lintel, and at the left corner, there is a stable door. The barn also has some blocked slit-breathers. Inside, there are two king-post roof trusses with very large cambered tie-beams. The barn is included for its group value.
