Description
A farmhouse, later converted into a house, likely dating from the early 17th century or earlier, and subject to alterations over time. The structure is built with daubed render on a sandstone base, and has a pantiled roof with brick chimneys. It follows a T-plan layout, comprising three main units with a rear wing. The building has one-and-a-half storeys and a rendered band. There are five tie-plates visible on the first floor. A shallow, gabled porch is offset to the right of the centre, with two windows to the left and one to the right. These windows are modern casements set in square openings. The roof features three gabled dormers with matching windows. Two modern chimneys rise from the ridge. The rear elevation includes a wide, single-storey wing or porch, four small dormers, and a slight projection in the wall of the first unit, which houses a small stairlight window. The interior is believed to be timber-framed, although it has not been inspected. References to the property can be found in the Regional Centre for Historic Monuments Records at pages 44 and 211.
