Description
Bywater Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some details from the 17th century and alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of two bays. It features a plinth and quoins, with plain stone surrounds to the openings. The door, which has been re-set, is located to the right, and there are three-light flat-face mullion windows on both the ground and first floors. A first-floor band and a large square banded ridge stack are positioned at the centre of the roof. The original door position is at the centre of the façade, with the lintel and blocking still visible. At the rear, there is a Tudor-arched lintel above the central door, which has a 20th-century porch added. The interior has not been inspected.
