Description
The lodge to Meanwood Hall is a mid-19th century building, likely constructed for Christopher Beckett or his sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. It is made of ashlar stone and has a slate roof. The structure is a single storey and features a two-bay L-plan in the Italianate style. The entrance bay has a boarded panelled door framed by a plain architrave with a cornice supported by console brackets. The windows are also framed with architraves that have cambered keyed arches and sill brackets, though the openings are boarded. The left bay projects and contains a central window that was once a door, with deep eaves supported by paired straight brackets and a plain plaque. The roof is hipped on the right side, and there is a large ashlar chimney stack on the ridge to the left and at the rear right. The interior has not been inspected.
