Description
The boundary wall, gate piers, and gates to Carr Manor House are likely from the late 18th century, with alterations made around 1902. The wall is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and measures approximately 175 meters in length and 2 meters in height, featuring rounded coping and wrought-iron and board gates. The main gates leading to Carr Manor House have curved flanking walls made of snecked ashlar, with rusticated piers that include moulding below the entablature and cornice. The scrolled wrought-iron gates are dated '1902'. To the left of the main gates is an 18th-century gateway that leads to former estate service buildings, made of ashlar with square, corniced piers. To the right is a plain gateway leading to former gardens, which has square piers topped with pyramid capstones and board gates. This structure is included for its group value.
