Description

The Jubilee Clock is a stone-built clock tower located on the site of the original Market Cross. It features an ornamental ironwork crown and has a stone base that includes a door and a drinking trough. The clock is displayed on four faces. The clock was erected in 1887 to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee, as the townspeople sought a suitable and lasting way to mark the occasion. The premises are currently occupied by Leeds House Cafe. The Butter Cross and Jubilee Clock form a group with the buildings numbered 30 to 40 (even).
