Description
Cobblestones is a house, likely built in the early 18th century, constructed from coursed squared sandstone with a stone slate roof. It features a two-unit plan and has a lean-to addition on the right side, which was once a smithy. The building is two storeys high and has quoins at the first floor on the right side and near the center, indicating possible rebuilding. The central doorway has plain jambs and a lintel, topped by a modern pentice. There are two three-light windows on each floor; the ground floor windows have flat-faced flush mullions, while those on the upper floor have chamfered mullions, all surrounded by plain stone and modern ornamental pseudo-shutters. The house has gable chimneys. The lean-to addition has been altered and now includes an inserted bow window.
Inside, the interior has been modified but still features a king-post roof truss with longitudinal braces to the ridges and trenched overlapped purlins.
