Description

The Manor House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a stone slate roof and features a rectangular two-unit plan. The building is two storeys high and has a single-storey gabled porch that is offset to the left of centre. The porch has an outer doorway on its left side. To the left of the porch, there is a double-chamfered mullioned window on each floor, with four lights on the ground floor and two lights above, both of which have been lengthened downwards. To the right of the porch, there is a similarly altered two-light window, a two-light fire window near the corner, and a modern three-light window above. The house has gable chimneys, with the left gable facing the road rendered and featuring two small round-headed windows inserted at ground level. The right gable end has an added conservatory. At the rear, there is a small chamfered window at the first floor and a similar blocked window at ground level near the right-hand corner, which was likely a former fire window. This feature was previously covered by an added outshut but was exposed when that was demolished for rebuilding at the time of the survey.

Inside, there are two lateral beams with cyma-stopped small chamfers, and in the second unit, there is a large Tudor-arched stone fireplace. Additionally, there is a vaulted cellar beneath the conservatory outside the right-hand gable wall.
