Description
Meanwood Institute is a village institute built around 1840 for either William or Christopher Beckett. The building is constructed from coursed gritstone rubble and brick, topped with a slate roof and featuring two gable stacks. It is a single-storey structure with a three-bay south front, which includes a projecting central gabled porch that has double panel doors. On either side of the porch, there are single three-light mullion and transom windows, each adorned with a Tudor hoodmould. The interior has not been inspected. Surrounding the building is a low round-topped stone wall that runs around the site.
