Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres south-west of Manor Farmhouse, dates back to 1720, as indicated by the date inscribed on the lintel of a former door. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has five bays with front aisles, creating a U-plan layout. The central wagon entrance, which is recessed between the aisles, has a timber lintel. The front walls of the aisles contain former doorways; the left doorway has been altered to serve as a window, while the right doorway has been blocked. There are also inserted double doors to the right, marked with the initials "W A 1720," which represent William and Alice Myers, who were married in 1700.
Inside, the barn features kingpost roof trusses with Y-struts, along with timber aisle posts that are braced to the aisle plates and to the tie-beams of the roof trusses.
